Özgür Özel: Those who come on November 3 will leave on November 2

The 12th of the "Nation Stands by Its Will" rallies launched by the Republican People's Party (CHP) after the arrest of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor and Presidential Candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu was held in Amasya.

HISTORICAL CROWD

At the call of the CHP, tens of thousands of citizens gathered in the city square in Amasya before the rally. CHP leader Özgür Özel addressed the citizens at the rally, which saw a historic crowd.

- My dear Amasya, where freedom is written on its stones and soil. Amasya, the city of princes like my hometown Manisa. Amasya, where Ferhat pierced the mountains, the symbolic place of the national struggle, the brave Amasya, who said that while four sides of the country were under occupation, the determination of the new nation would save the future of the nation!

- Those who were not afraid founded this country, those who were not afraid saved it. Those who are not afraid of the situation we are in, you will save it. When I stepped into Amasya, despite the cruelty of those who attempted a coup on March 19 out of fear, President Ekrem's picture of our next President welcomed me. I thank you all. And when this happened, my brother Ferdi, who won hearts and whose death filled us with mourning, welcomed me. I thank you all.

- Wherever we go in Türkiye, they send their regards to Ferdi's family. I would like to thank all of Türkiye and the conscientious people of the country from here. Today is different from the 30 rallies we held before. Today morning, we woke up to a dark day. Today morning, there are cities like Istanbul whose wills are being usurped. Now, this magnificent rally in Amasya, not only Amasya Square, this rally, Adana, Antalya, Adıyaman are watching. Greetings to our Adana, Antalya, Adıyaman.

- I am happy that our brother Turgay Sevindi won Amasya 47 years after the 1963 and 1977 elections.

"THE GOVERNMENT'S CONNECTION WITH THE PEOPLE HAS BEEN BROKE AWAY AND FALLEN FROM FAVOR"

- The way to gain power in a country is to gain the consent of the people, that's how it should be. If it doesn't, no one will listen to the people's problems or do their job. There is a government that has recently lost touch with the people and has lost the people's favor and heart. An agricultural frost occurred just in April. Amasya is a province that was greatly affected by the frost. That week, President Reşat brought up this issue in the Parliament. The general chairmen responsible for agriculture brought it up. 4.5 billion is needed. But Mr. Erdoğan came out and said, 'There is no such thing as exaggeration, some products have it and some don't.' The money Amasya needs is 4.5 billion. Amasya was ignored.

- The cost of carrying out the March 19 coup, removing İmamoğlu from office and in return collecting the falling stock market and fixing the crazy dollar exchange rate was 6 trillion liras. 1,333 times the money that the farmers of Amasya needed. Shame on those who spent 1,333 times the money they couldn't find due to frost damage on the coup!

"I AM SAYING TO THE AKP AND MHP MEMBERS..."

- I am telling AKP and MHP members of Amasya, those who cannot find money for your loss, as long as they put the country under stress for their own power, they find 1300 times more money than Amasya needs. You support them, when they come to power, they turn their backs. I invite AKP and MHP members of Amasya to stay away from this cruel government, to choose the government of the people who will think of themselves!

"THIS GOVERNMENT FORGOT AMASYA"

- This government has forgotten Amasya. There is no irrigation infrastructure in Amasya. While Turkey is heading towards a major drought, Amasya is being pushed into drought. Amasya has something to say to those who have forgotten Amasya, to those who have brought it to this state. That ballot box will come. Democracy is a process where you bring in who you want, and take away who you don't want. They banned Ekrem İmamoğlu's picture and voice. Our deputies went and hung his picture on the bridge. The whole world saw it. Now on the mountains of Amasya it says "freedom to Ekrem President".

"WHAT ARE THESE DOING IN POWER, LET'S CHANGE THEM"

-This government, which has now fallen from the people's eyes and hearts, has lost its social support. We are faced with a government that is afraid of the people, that runs away from the ballot box, that cannot look the people in the face. Mr. Tayyip sat in warm halls in the winter, now he sits in air-conditioned halls in the summer. He lines up his own appointees in front of him, speaks himself, and gets applause for himself. Have you ever seen Mr. Tayyip, the AKP Party, go out in public recently, in recent years? Can they come to the market? Do they come to the coffeehouse? Do they ask after you on the street? Do they listen to your troubles? Then what are they doing in power? Let's change them.

-Now the government has a name but not its own. It cannot resign. Everything comes out of one person's mouth, everything comes from his fountain pen. There is no need for a government, Erdoğan, resign! Mr. Tayyip, you are talking so much, you are trying to stay in power by hiding behind 3 prosecutors and 3 false witnesses, you do not hear that the don is hitting Amasya, you do not hear the retirees, come and hear this! This is the voice of the people from Amasya, which is rising. We got 7 percent here, we got almost one out of every two votes in the last election. The honest people of Amasya are protecting the future of their children. It is a good thing we have you. Our friends have been under arrest for 108 days. We called the people of Istanbul to Saraçhane that day. We reached a million in the night rallies.

-We went to Anatolia. We left neither Yozgat nor Van, we went to Mersin and Thrace. What we see is that the nation is defending its will. There are those who are trying to usurp the national will through the judiciary. There are those who want to take the sovereignty from the nation and transfer it to the judiciary, those who defy the nation. The nation says that the prosecutor will govern Istanbul, that is not possible, the nation says, the prosecutor will govern Adana, that is not possible, the prosecutor says that Muhittin will govern Antalya, that is not possible, the prosecutor says that Abdurrahman will govern Adıyaman, that is not possible. Here, I am telling that prosecutor and those who give him political duties, the nation is the boss, whatever the nation says goes!

"THERE IS NO CORRUPTION, THERE IS SLANDERING AND PUNISHING THE CHP"

-What is being done is neither a corruption investigation nor is there any corruption. It is slandering the Republican People's Party through a criminal machine, and punishing our friends whose only crime was defeating the AKP on March 31. We will not allow this. We will not allow this to happen. Let me tell this to Mr. Tayyip, to Mr. Erdoğan, what the people say will happen, you will go, Ekrem İmamoğlu will come.

"NO SINGLE EVIDENCE, MANY SLANDER"

-There is not a single piece of evidence, there are many slanders, our friends are innocent. History will prove us right, we are clean, you are liars, slanderers.

-Abdurrahman Tutdere buried his brother, sister-in-law and 5-year-old baby with his own hands when the earthquake happened. Then he ran to the rubble. Our party did not nominate him, mothers who mourned in Turkish and Kurdish, little children, those who witnessed his humanity wanted him. Muhittin Böcek in Antalya, no one in history has ever won twice, the pride of the locals who won back to back, they put all of these in the same category. They slander Aziz İhsan Aktaş, the crime machine, and release them all.

- 108 days ago, the prosecutor called Aziz İhsan Aktaş a criminal organization leader. He says, get into relations with the AKP, get into relations with the MHP. He is digging into his relations with the CHP, he says, you cannot get out with this statement, you will testify as I said. While this informant cannot fill in a single corner of the lies he made to our friends, who is Aziz İhsan Aktaş working with? He does the work of the Supreme Court. He does the TBMM, while the AKP governs the state airports, THY, Pamukkale and Uludağ University, the AKP-held Trabzon, Ordu, Kocaeli, Kahramanmaraş metropolitan municipalities, Elazığ, Isparta provincial municipalities and more than 40 district municipalities, this man collected garbage during the AKP period in Balıkesir and Şanlıurfa, Afyon, Kilis, Yozgat, Uşak and won his tender. They put them all in jail because he won a tender from ours.

"EVERYONE MUST TAKE THEIR PLACE IN HISTORY CORRECTLY"
