A first in history: Nuclear reactor production begins with artificial intelligence

Software developer Palantir Technologies has announced a partnership with The Nuclear Company to develop an AI -based software system that it says will revolutionize the construction of nuclear reactors. The two American companies are collaborating on an AI platform to accelerate the construction of nuclear facilities. The companies are talking about what would be the first AI software system specifically designed to build nuclear reactors on time and on budget. NOS is the latest project in Palantir’s Warp Speed manufacturing operating system initiative, which provides material resource planning and allows users to customize and accelerate each product line in real time according to unique constraints and goals. The two companies say NOS will provide schedule certainty by providing “instant, up-to-date guidance” to production teams that is tailored to real-time constraints, so they can plan their work efficiently and avoid downtime. This will prevent shipping errors, material shortages and lost documentation by providing a tracked and verified supply chain.
It will also save costs by allowing work to be prioritized or backup options to be initiated if there is a possibility of delay.
