THEY TRIED TO TAKE THE FLAG AWAY FROM HIM

'IT WAS AN UNAUTHORIZED ACTION'
Following the incident that occurred during the finale of Giuseppe Verdi's four-act opera, Il Trovatore, the Royal Ballet & Opera announced that the act was "unauthorized." A spokesperson for the institution said, "The unfurling of the flag was an unauthorized act, carried out at the artist's initiative. This action was not approved by the Royal Ballet & Opera and was completely inappropriate."
One audience member who watched the performance shared a post on social media: "Amazing scenes at the Royal Opera House. During the closing salute of Il Trovatore, one of the background artists came on stage with a Palestinian flag . He waved the flag but just stood there and didn't bow or shout. Someone from backstage kept trying to take the flag away from him. Unbelievable."
'A BRAVE ACTION'
According to British media reports, an anonymous viewer said a man behind the stage attempted to take the flag from the artist twice, but only managed to record the second attempt after the audience members pulled out their phones. Some viewers described the action as "brave," while others argued that it cast a shadow over the final night.
