Galatasaray played its first match against Ümraniyespor as part of its preparations for the new season, winning 5-2. According to a report in Türkiye Newspaper, Carlos Cuesta and Victor Nelsson, who Galatasaray had already put on its sale list, failed to qualify for this match.

While both players played 45 minutes, their performances were again far below expectations. After the match, it was reported that Galatasaray had made the decision to part ways with both players and that they were exploring ways to offload Nelsson and Cuesta.
