Heavy rain in Ankara: Streets turned into lakes

The downpour caused flooding in some streets and avenues in the Sincan, Beypazarı and Polatlı districts.
Due to the rain in the city, some houses, workplaces and warehouses on the ground and basement floors were flooded and sewers overflowed.
Municipal teams carried out water drainage work in areas experiencing negativity.

While drivers had difficulty moving on the Eskişehir-Polatlı road due to the downpour, puddles also formed on the Sincan-Ayaş road.

Hacı Dursun Doğan, a resident of the Ozanoğlu Apartment on Siyah Lale Street, whose basement is filled with water, stated that they face flooding every time there is heavy rain.
Doğan said, "We keep telling the authorities to build a culvert here. A culvert was built further forward, but the problem still remains. We had an engine inside, and it was half-filled with water. We had supplies to go to the village, but they were all destroyed. We're asking the authorities for help."
Ramazan Babagir, a resident of Şirin Apartments, which also experienced flooding on the same street, said, "The water filled the basement in about 15 minutes. The homeowners are in a difficult situation right now. The vehicles in front of the building were also damaged."
