A young chess player from Labytnangi won bronze at the Russian championship among schoolchildren, this was reported by the Department of Physical Education and Sports of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.

"Svetlana Belanova, a student at the Yunost sports school, took third place in the tournament for girls under nine years old. She trains under the guidance of Andrei Stroganov," the statement said.

The competition took place from June 17 to 20 in the village of Bunyrevo, Tula region.

Svetlana is currently participating in the FIDE World Chess Cup among boys and girls as part of the Russian national team, which is taking place from June 22 to July 3 in the Georgian city of Batumi.

Let us recall that at the end of last year Svetlana Belanova became the winner of the Russian Children's Chess Cup .
