River connections between banks of the Tagus with interruptions on Thursday

River connections between Lisbon and the south bank of the Tagus will be interrupted during Thursday afternoon, due to a plenary meeting of Transtejo Soflusa (TTSL) workers, the company reported today.
“Due to the holding of a General Plenary, convened by trade union organizations representing TTSL workers, the interruption of regular service is expected”, says Transtejo Soflusa, in a statement.
On its website, the company states that the workers' plenary meeting will affect several river connections, namely between Terreiro do Paço and Barreiro, Cacilhas, Montijo, Seixal and Trafaria, between 12:55 and 18:45.
All interruptions and respective times can be consulted via the link https://ttsl.pt/avisos/plenario-ttsl-15-mai/ .
“In the event of a stoppage in regular service, the terminals and river stations are closed during these periods for safety reasons,” warns the company.
According to the Federation of Transport Unions, the plenary will discuss the current phase of the negotiation process with the company and the position to be taken by the union organizations.
“These workers have not yet seen their salaries updated for this year, so it is necessary that management quickly presents a proposal that allows negotiations to be unblocked and responds to the fair demands of those who work at the company,” explains the union.
The successive cancellations of boats, as well as some changes to this service, particularly in timetables, have led to some criticism from users of this transport.
Transtejo Soflusa (TTSL) is the company responsible for the river connection between Seixal, Montijo, Cacilhas, Barreiro and Trafaria/Porto Brandão, in the district of Setúbal, and Lisbon.
