Portimonense wins Arade Trophy

Portimonense , from the Portuguese II League, beat Saudi champions Al Ittihad 2-1 on Saturday, August 2, and won the Arade 2025 Trophy, in the presentation game for members that marked the end of the pre-season, in Portimão.
After a balanced first half, the Algarve team took the lead in the 50th minute with a goal from Douglas Grolli following a corner. Tiago Mamede doubled the lead ten minutes later with a well-placed shot that sent the stands of the Portimão Municipal Stadium into a frenzy. In added time, Marwan Al-Sahafi pulled one back for the Saudi side, making the final score 2-1.
The team led by Tiago Fernandes presented itself with six reinforcements in the starting eleven: goalkeeper Cibois, defenders Alexandre, Mindinho and João Reis, and midfielders Xavier and Samuel Lobato.
Before the start of the match, the club presented its provisional squad for the 2025/2026 season to its members, made up of 32 players, 18 of whom are signings.
Portimonense thus closes the pre-season with a record of four wins, three draws and three defeats.
The official debut is scheduled for August 9th, at 6 pm, at home, against Penafiel.
