German fighter jets already in Poland. They will support NATO operations.

- The presence of German Eurofighter Typhoon fighters at the 23 BLT airport in Mińsk Mazowiecki is not only a real strengthening of the air defense of NATO's eastern flank, but also a strong signal of allied unity and commitment to common security - we read in a statement by the Operational Command of the Branches of the Armed Forces on platform X.
"For the first time, a German Eurofighter Typhoon is landing at the air base in Mińsk Mazowiecki. The unit is undertaking a mission to enhance NATO airspace control, demonstrating a joint commitment to deterrence and defense, ensuring the security of NATO airspace," NATO Air Command wrote in a statement on Platform X.
"A strong deterrent and protection of common airspace""This is a clear sign of allied solidarity within NATO. It serves as a strong deterrent and ensures the protection of shared airspace," a German Air Force spokeswoman told the German newspaper "Bild" on Monday.
Since July 21, "a total of 150 additional German soldiers" have been transferred to Poland, including from the "Boelcke" squadron, the German newspaper reports.
The DPA news agency reported that the transfer of the aircraft to Poland was made at Poland's request. German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced this move in January.
The 23rd Tactical Air Base is located east of Mińsk Mazowiecki and is part of the 1st Tactical Air Wing, with headquarters in Świdwin. According to the unit's website, "in peacetime, the base provides logistical support for military aircraft flights and overflights, as well as for air missions."
The 23rd Tactical Air Base is also responsible for monitoring the airspace over the Baltic countries.
