End of National Health Fund (NFZ) treatment. No more doctor visits or discounts on medications.

- After 30 days from the end of the employment contract, the right to free healthcare financed by the National Health Fund expires.
- Lack of continuity in insurance may mean loss of access to public health care treatment.
- However, it is worth remembering that the National Health Fund provides for certain exceptions to this rule.
The right to health care benefits usually ceases 30 days after the expiry of the health insurance obligation, for example:
- in the event of termination of the employment relationship, for example under an employment contract, the right to health benefits expires 30 days after the date of termination of the contract;
- in the event of termination of non-agricultural business activity - after 30 days from the date of termination of such activity;
- in the case of employed persons on unpaid leave - after 30 days from the date of commencement of the leave;
- in the case of unemployed persons, the right to health benefits expires 30 days after losing the unemployment status;
- in the event of the death of a person who registered family members for insurance – family members lose the right to benefits after 30 days from the date of death.
However, the National Health Fund provides for certain exceptions. For people who:
- have completed secondary school or higher education or have been removed from the list of pupils or students - the right to health care services is valid for four months from the end of education or removal from the list of pupils or students;
- apply for a pension or disability pension - the right to health care benefits is granted during the period of the procedure for granting these benefits;
- they receive an allowance granted under the provisions on sickness or accident insurance - the right to health care services is granted during the period during which these persons receive the allowance;
- have suspended rights to a social pension - in cases referred to in art. 10 section 5 of the Act of 27 June 2003 on social pension (Journal of Laws No. 135, item 1268, as amended) - the right to health care services is granted for 90 days from the termination of health insurance in the Fund.
After this period, a person who wants to continue using health services under the National Health Fund insurance should obtain another right to insurance, e.g. voluntarily insure themselves - we read.
If she does not do this, she will have to cover the costs of the medical care she receives herself.
