A ceremonial "Sto lat" toast was raised in honor of those celebrating their golden anniversaries in Lubaczów. This is a total of 25 couples whose marriage counter has reached 50 years of life together.

On April 24, the group of spouses with at least 50 years of marriage was joined by: Barbara and Bronisław Baran, Maria and Władysław Baran, Janina and Kazimierz Cepek, Maria and Michał Charysz, Lucyna and Mieczysław Czerscy, Danuta and Kazimierz Dudziński, Maria and Stanisław Goniak, Genowefa and Edward Goraj, Maria and Eugeniusz Huk, Zdzisława and Edward Kolbuch, Stefania and Włodzimierz Konos, Krystyna and Eugeniusz Kopciuch, Zbigniewa and Franciszek Kosiński, Danuta and Władysław Kuni, Zdzisława and Ryszard Majewski, Bronisława and Franciszek Mazurkiewicz, Teresa and Zdzisław Olearników, Krystyna and Mieczysław Sęgowa, Danuta and Józef Sioma, Jadwiga and Stanisław Smagacz, Dorota and Ignacy Szczygłow, Józefa and Edward Śnihur, Danuta and Zdzisław Świrscy, Wanda and Stanisław Zagrodzcy, and Maria and Krzysztof Żuczek. They all entered into marriage in 1974, and the fact that they have remained in it until now means that their marriage was not lacking in mutual understanding and patience, without which such a long marriage would not have been possible.

The jubilarians first met at the Sanctuary of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Grace for a special mass celebrated by Rev. Canon Andrzej Stopyra – the dean of Lubaczów – to renew their vows made years ago. Then the celebration moved to the “U Dina” Restaurant, where the couples received their Medals for Long Marital Life, presented by Mayor Krzysztof Szpyta. It was sublime, and at times even moving, and the entire ceremony was embellished with performances by young performers from the Municipal Cultural Center under the direction of Andrzej Kindrat and Krystyna Czura. Unfortunately, not all the spouses could take part in the event in person that day. Those who were there were congratulated on their perseverance, expressing admiration and respect for their uninterrupted marriage.
