Camp Nou opener against Valencia in jeopardy: more than 200 defects detected

The long-awaited opening of the new Spotify Camp Nou is in jeopardy. According to RAC1, an initial inspection for the Barcelona City Council's ECA certification has detected more than 200 deficiencies that must be addressed before beginning the first phase of the reopening of the Blaugrana stadium, initially planned for a Joan Gamper tournament that was ultimately held at the Johan Cruyff Stadium.
The club and the Barcelona city council reached an agreement to gradually increase the number of fans in the stands starting with the match against Valencia, scheduled for the weekend of September 14, but those plans are currently on hold.
The biggest problem Barça could face if the permits aren't ready in time would be in the Champions League. UEFA requires all matches in the first group stage, which began last season, to be played at the same venue.
Should the Spotify Camp Nou not be ready for Europe's top competition, the club led by Joan Laporta could face a scenario in which they would have to maintain two different grounds until the end of the group stage, with Montjuïc presumably serving as the venue for Hansi Flick's team's European matches.
