Tram construction sites: New call for tenders for activities along the Red Line

Bologna, November 11, 2025 – A new call for proposals for activities along the Red Tram Line has been launched, with an initial allocation of €200,000, which will be adjusted based on expressions of interest.
"This is a call for those merchants who, for various reasons, were unable to submit their initial application. I'm thinking of businesses in San Donato , for example, who were excluded, but also those who, perhaps, have opened new shops right along the Rossa," says Luisa Guidone, Councilor for Commerce.
Applications can be submitted from November 15th to December 15th, and the contributions will be aimed at commercial and artisan businesses aimed at restyling premises and furnishings, improving public spaces in terms of safety and accessibility , and even local entertainment initiatives, such as those soon dedicated to Christmas.
Businesses along the tram tracks who submit individual project ideas will receive €5,000 in funding; businesses in adjacent streets can apply for up to €3,000. Those requesting group funding will receive a grant of €10,000. Initiatives submitted by business networks are a key area of focus for the Municipality.
The tender for the Green LineCouncilor Guidone also took stock of the Green Line call for proposals, which saw 55 eligible projects, 5 of which were aggregated, for a total of €215,000.
The balance of the fundsThe municipality has allocated €1.2 million in tenders for businesses along the tram line, including €80,000 in costs for the help and information desk for businesses regarding the tram construction site. These funds are in addition to tax discounts: the municipality has so far accepted 650 applications for the TARI (tax on land) discount and 550 for the CUP (formerly Cosap, the tax on the occupation of public land) discount.
Activities around the GarisendaOn the sidelines, Guidone also highlighted the compensation provided to businesses affected by the Garisenda construction site through two calls for proposals, and the Municipality's plan for the middle class, "Bologna supports you," which will also provide subsidized loans for these businesses. A meeting with trade associations will be held this afternoon to launch specific initiatives in the area for Christmas.
