A new sports area will soon be created in this park in La Seyne

As part of its actions to promote the development of sports, the City will acquire a new sports space within Braudel Park.

It will be structured around a "street work out" type installation (allowing people to practice weight training and gymnastics) of the same type as the one set up in 2021 at the Parc de la Navale.

"The surface will, however, be different so that it fits in better with the park's environment," the town hall said.

This freely accessible facility will be installed near the Youth Reception Area. It will feature a QR code that, when scanned with a smartphone, will allow access to a comprehensive program tailored to each individual's abilities.

Diversify the park's audiences

The project also includes the development of a fitness trail (which will include twenty stages with equipment and signage) and a platform for practicing sports activities.

Construction will begin in the fall, with delivery expected before the end of the year. The cost of the project is estimated at nearly €72,000. Sixty percent will be funded by the Region. The City, which would cover 20 percent of the cost, is asking the National Sports Agency for a 20 percent contribution.

"With this new project," said Mayor Nathalie Bicais, "we are going further to make sports accessible to all. These facilities will complement the beach volleyball courts created in 2023. Alongside the opening of an art gallery at Maison Pouillon, all these creations contribute to the sustainable establishment of new activities that contribute to the diversification of the audiences of Braudel Park."
