MacBooks Are Up to $500 Off for Prime Day

If you’ve been waiting for the right time to buy a Mac, Amazon just made the decision easy. Prices across Apple’s entire lineup dropped during Prime Day (June 23–26), including AirPods, iPads, Apple Watches, and more. But with RAM and storage prices rising across the industry, the MacBook deals are especially worth paying attention to. Every MacBook deal worth grabbing is broken down below, so you know exactly what you’re getting at each price point.
The headliner is Apple’s MacBook Air 13-inch with the M5 chip, which is currently down to $950, one of the lowest prices we’ve seen so far. It’s the Mac laptop most people should buy.
The MacBook Air packs Apple’s M5 chip into a fanless, 2.7-pound frame that handles everything from heavy multitasking to light video editing without breaking a sweat. Base storage doubles to 512GB this year, which is an underrated upgrade for storing more apps, photos, and documents. The 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display is sharp and vivid, the 12MP Center Stage camera is great for video calls, and Wi-Fi 7 means fast download speeds.
Battery life stretches to 18 hours, so you can get through a full workday and then some on a single charge. It won’t replace a Pro model for heavy creative work or gaming, but for the vast majority of people, it’s the best option for school, work, and general use. If you want a larger display, the 15-inch MacBook Air is also $150 off at Amazon.
The 14-inch MacBook Pro with AppleCare+ is sitting at $1,768 on Amazon—$210 off the list price. This is the lowest price we’ve ever seen. For that money, you get a 14.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR display with ProMotion at 120Hz, up to 24 hours of battery, three Thunderbolt 4 ports, an HDMI port, an SD card slot, and 1TB of storage.
So why go Pro over the Air? The GPU is faster (10-core vs. the Air’s 8-core base), which you’ll notice when editing video, working with high-res photos, or gaming. The XDR screen is significantly brighter. And you get an HDMI port and an SD card reader built in. If your daily workload has started to bump up against the Air’s limits, this is where you go next.
If you want to get the most bang for your buck during Amazon’s sale, consider this $500 discount on the 2024 MacBook Air—currently at a record-low price. The M3 chip-powered laptop is equipped with 512GB of storage space, plus two Thunderbolt ports, a headphone jack, and a MagSafe charging port. While it’s more dated than other models on this list, the savings can’t be beat.
The MacBook Neo is Apple’s most affordable MacBook, but Amazon isn’t currently offering any savings. Still, the laptop itself we recommend, especially if you’ve never owned a Mac. It runs on Apple’s A18 Pro chip, and it’s surprisingly fast for basic tasks, including browsing the web, sending email, and streaming video. The 13-inch Liquid Retina display looks great for the price, the battery lasts a solid 16 hours, and it comes in four fun colors. Personally, I’m a huge fan of the yellow-green citrus.
While the starting price is hard to beat, there are some trade-offs. Storage starts at just 256GB, RAM is 8GB, there’s no keyboard backlight, and you only get two USB-C ports. Spending an extra $100 on the 512GB model gets you double the storage and a Touch ID sensor for easily unlocking the device. If you’re buying a laptop for a student or someone who mostly browses the web, the Neo is hard to beat.
