Türkiye Welcomes 40.5 Million Visitors in Eight Months

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism announced visitor statistics for August 2025 and the first eight months of the year.

According to the data, the total number of visitors to Türkiye between January and August 2025 was 40,470,000. Of this number, 35,481,000 were foreign visitors, while 4,989,000 were citizens residing abroad. The number of foreign visitors decreased by 0.90 percent compared to the same period last year.

6.9 million foreign tourists in August The number of foreign visitors coming to Turkey in August 2025 increased by 2.05 percent compared to the same month in 2024, reaching 6 million 965 thousand.

The Russian Federation topped the list of countries sending the most visitors to Türkiye during this period, with 990,000. This was followed by Germany with 989,000 visitors, the UK with 638,000, Iran with 331,000, and Poland with 325,000.

Russia and Germany are in the top two places

Russia topped the list of countries sending the most visitors to Türkiye in the first eight months of the year with 4.554 million visitors. It was followed by Germany with 4.4 million visitors, the UK with 3.02 million visitors, Iran with 1.994 million visitors, and Bulgaria with 1.746 million visitors.

The momentum gained in tourism during the summer months is expected to contribute strongly to the total number of visitors by the end of the year.
