Fenerbahçe's nightmare: Benfica!

Fenerbahçe once again failed to get past Benfica in the Champions League. After drawing 0-0 with Benfica at Kadıköy, Fenerbahçe was eliminated from the Champions League with a 1-0 away defeat, earning their second Champions League elimination against the Portuguese side.

In the 2018-19 season, the yellow-dark blue team, who were paired with Benfica in the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round, were eliminated after losing 1-0 away and drawing 1-1 with their opponent in the rematch.
