National archer Merve Nur Eroğlu: My goal is to win the gold medal and represent my flag in the best way possible.

The 30-year-old Eroğlu, who began archery in 2013, has amassed numerous medals in competitions both at home and abroad. Eroğlu was named the 2018 Paralympic Women's Athlete of the Year by the World Archery Federation.

Eroğlu, who won two gold medals individually and as a mixed team in the para archery national team at the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games held in Konya in 2021, became the champion in the European Cup held in the Czech Republic in May 2023.

National para archer Eroğlu, who won a silver medal at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, aims to win a gold medal at the Paralympic Games to be held in Los Angeles, United States, in 2028.

Merve Nur Eroğlu told an Anadolu Agency (AA) reporter that she has been practicing archery since 2011, that she has numerous achievements in Europe, and that she holds championships in the World Cup.

Emphasizing that she is preparing for the 2028 Paralympic Games in the best possible way, Merve said:

"My goal is to win the gold medal at the Olympics and represent my flag in the best way possible. I want to win the gold medal, and that's why I'm continuing to train. I work three days on, one day off, and my training takes three to four hours. Archery is a wonderful sport, and I recommend it to everyone. I'm aiming for the top in Los Angeles 2028."

Gonca Genç, Merve's coach at the Archers' Foundation Sports Club, stated that they are continuing their work in the best possible way, saying, "We have annual training programs for all our athletes. We continue our work simultaneously with both our national team coaches and club coaches."
