Comedian Özgür Turhan: My wife and friends are counting the days to see when I can get in.

Comedian Özgür Turhan, who reaches a wide audience with his stand-up comedy, reacted to the legal proceedings against him. He stated that he will testify in the defamation case against Cübbeli Ahmet and that he will go to the police station on Saturday to sign autographs as part of the lawsuit filed by Galatasaray. He said the following:
"Considering what I've been through, the threats I've received and the obstructions I've made seem too slight to mention here right now."
Turhan continued:
"Eti unilaterally terminated the contract, claiming they suffered losses because I appeared in their unaired commercials due to a tweet I posted. They filed a lawsuit against me to cover their losses from the commercial. The amount they demanded from me, from the coffee they drank on the commercial set to the beyran soup, and all the expenses, was approximately 5 million TL. The lawsuit was decided against me in a way I cannot understand.
Before filming our show on Sunday, we reconsidered everything we'd said, wondering what was and wasn't a crime. While I'm absolutely certain I haven't committed any crime according to our laws, my wife and friends are counting the days until I can get in. My friends and acquaintances are being arrested and facing charges simply for telling jokes. I'm a comedian, and this is what happens to me in this country simply for sharing my jokes with you.
I'm so tired now. I'm sad about the state our country has reached, I'm sad about our children's future, I'm sad about myself. I'm in a strange situation where I don't know what to do or say.
