Minister of Health Kemal Memişoğlu said, "With the program we launched simultaneously in 81 provinces, overweight people will be identified and directed to Healthy Life Centers and Family Health Centers. In this way, people will be provided with nutritional consultancy and follow-up services by dietitians."
Minister Memişoğlu, in his statement on social media, said, "We have implemented a new application with the aim of reaching 10 million people in 3 months for the health of our citizens. With the program we have launched simultaneously in 81 provinces, our health personnel will measure height, weight and body mass index (BMI) in squares, public areas and activity points where our citizens are concentrated. Overweight people will be identified and directed to Healthy Life Centers and Family Health Centers. In this way, people will be provided with nutritional consultancy and follow-up services by dietitians."
Minister Memişoğlu stated that the process in question will be carried out in cooperation with provincial health directorates, relevant public institutions, the Red Crescent, the Green Crescent and various civil society organizations, and said, "Our goal is to reach 10 million citizens between May 10 and July 10, 2025. To raise awareness about the harms of being overweight and to spread the culture of healthy living. We will continue to work towards the goal of 'a society that protects its health without getting sick' with both our education programs aimed at increasing the level of health literacy and our field applications that will encourage healthy living habits."
