Minister Şimşek reacts to allegations: "We are not surprised by the timing of the baseless allegations"

Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek responded to the allegations against him with a social media post.

Minister Şimşek said, " A newspaper published a forced news story on its front page today with a single photo from the period when I was not a Minister. As I have stated before, I do not know the person who came to visit me in London with my fellow citizen from Batman. It is impossible for me to know the past and future of people I see for the first time in my life. The claim that we are connected to the people who sit at our table or take photos with is irrational. Our economic program continues successfully, overcoming all difficulties. As long as we carry out our duty properly, we are not surprised by the continuation of these attacks or the timing of these unfounded claims. Our efforts are for the peace and prosperity that our dear nation desires. It should be known that irrational and unrealistic attacks cannot achieve results."
