Earthquake activity continues in the Mediterranean and Aegean Seas.

According to the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) data, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.8 (Mw) occurred in the Aegean Sea at 02.17, with its epicenter 10.43 km away from the Marmaris district of Muğla.

The earthquake was felt strongly in the areas around Izmir, Muğla, Denizli and Antalya.

Muğla Governor İdris Akbıyık reported that there were 7 injuries in Marmaris and that there were no reports of destruction. Akbıyık said, "As of now, there is no negative situation in our province due to the 5.8 magnitude earthquake that occurred off the coast of Marmaris. Field scanning efforts are ongoing. I wish all our citizens a speedy recovery."

Marmaris Mayor Acar Ünlü stated that they felt the earthquake strongly and that their teams were on the field.
