Arrested wife of dead woman: I found it on the knife in the kitchen

The incident occurred in the Bahri neighborhood on September 5th. Yusuf Kolay reported finding his wife, Emine Kolay, stabbed in the kitchen. Paramedics arrived and took Kolay, a mother of one, to the hospital. Kolay was admitted to the intensive care unit and, despite doctors' best efforts, could not be saved.

"I FOUND IT FALLING ON THE KNIFE"

As part of the investigation into the incident, Emine Kolay's husband, Yusuf Kolay, was taken into custody. In his statement to the gendarmerie, Kolay claimed that they had been married for two years and that he found his wife fallen on a knife in the kitchen. "I was sitting in the room," Kolay said. "When I heard screams coming from the kitchen, I went and saw my wife lying on the floor covered in blood."

ARRESTED

After processing at the gendarmerie, Yusuf Kolay was referred to the courthouse, arrested, and sent to prison. Emine Kolay's body was buried in her hometown, Sincik, Adıyaman, following an autopsy.
