Photographs of businessman Fazlı Ateş, who was named in an investigation into the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality and for whom a detention warrant has been issued, with prominent AKP figures have emerged. Antalya Police Chief İlker Arslan, who is being detained on bribery and fraud charges, is alleged to have engaged in bribery and other self-serving relationships through Ateş.

Ateş, who also made headlines with AKP member Şamil Tayyar's words, "No offense to anyone, everyone involved in dirty business will and should be held accountable," has been seen on social media accounts filled with photos of himself with AKP members.
According to a report in Sözcü, Ateş, who shared a photo with 11th President Abdullah Gül in 2019, said, "We attended the office of our 11th President, Mr. Abdullah Gül. We had a very productive and valuable exchange of ideas. I am grateful and express my gratitude for the hospitality he extended to me."

Fazlı Ateş, who also shared a photo with Abdülkadir Aksu, captioned the post, "I visited our former Minister of the Interior, the doyen I hold in high esteem and who has been my guide in my political life, Mr. Abdülkadir Aksu. Ateş also has a photo with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Regarding the 2017 photo, Ateş says, "Today marks the third anniversary of our President-elect, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in his presidency.
