Journey to a Thousands of Years of Secret: Excavation Started in Palu Castle

Excavations will be carried out in Palu Castle with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Elazığ Governorship and Palu District Governorship, under the direction of the Elazığ Archeology and Ethnography Museum Directorate affiliated to the Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism.
Hatipoğlu, who received information about the work carried out from Elazığ Archeology and Ethnography Museum Director Ziya Kılınç, examined the area where the excavations will be carried out.
In his speech here, Hatipoğlu said that Elazığ is one of the places where many histories are blended.
Hatipoğlu stated that they were trying to uncover history with the excavations they carried out in Elazığ and that Palu Castle had a history dating back to 850 BC, and said, "We evaluate that this will go back further after the excavations. The findings will show this."
Expressing that they wanted to reveal all the beauties in the castle, Hatipoğlu said:
"These studies are important for the tourism destination of Palu and Elazığ as a whole. We aim to carry out different tourism activities in this magnificent basin of Murat. Hopefully, it will become a much more important tourism destination in the future. We are also carrying out excavations in Harput Castle, Salkaya village and Tadım village.
We want to make this history accessible to our citizens. We want these beauties to first be a sign of civilization that we are aware of, feel and live as Elazığlı, and then we want them to spread throughout our country. In this sense, we will continue to support such works until the end."
