Where is Adile Sultan Pavilion? How do I get there? What is its historical significance?

NEWS CENTER-Adile Sultan, daughter of Ottoman Sultan Mahmud II, was born in Topkapı Palace in 1826 and received a modern education. Known as the only female poet in the Ottoman dynasty to have a divan, Adile Sultan contributed to the development of Kandilli, helped the poor, and made significant efforts to educate orphaned girls.

Sultan Abdülmecid wanted to give the mansion, which he purchased in 1856, to his beloved sister Adile Sultan as a summer residence, but his wish was fulfilled by his brother, Sultan Abdülaziz, who ascended to the throne after his death. In 1861, Sultan Abdülaziz demolished the dilapidated mansion and built the present palace, which reflects a 19th-century Western style.

Before her death, Adile Sultan donated the palace to the Ministry of National Education, and education began in 1916 as the country's first boarding high school for girls. Restored after a fire in 1986, the palace reopened in 2005 as a venue for special events and receptions.
