Lawyer Rezan Epözdemir, known for her critical cases that have been the subject of discussion in Turkey , was detained.

Rezan Epözdemir, who was detained this morning as part of two separate investigations conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, is accused of bribery, political and military espionage, and aiding FETÖ.

While the procedures for Rezan Epözdemir, who was detained this morning, continue at the police station, details regarding the bribery accusation have emerged.

BRIBERY FILE SEPARATE

It was noted that a confidentiality order was issued within the scope of the investigation carried out against Epözdemir, and that the statement of the witness A.D. was later taken.

In the witness's statement, it was stated that there were three different actions in which lawyer Epözdemir allegedly received bribes, and that the file was separated in order to obtain permission for investigation because there was a power of attorney relationship in two of these actions.

$150,000 CLAIM FOR RELEASE

In the 2021 incident, which did not involve a power of attorney, it was stated that Epözdemir and C.Ç. received a bribe of $150,000 in exchange for an eviction, $75,000 of which was paid before the eviction and the remaining $75,000 after the eviction. It was alleged that $75,000 of this bribe was taken by C.Ç. from the address of witness A.D. on July 7, 2021 and taken to Epözdemir.

HTS/BAZ AND WHATSAPP RECORDS REVIEW

It was reported that in order to determine the accuracy of the allegations, the HTS/BAZ records of Epözdemir and C.Ç. were examined and it was determined that C.Ç. went to A.D.'s address on July 8, 2021, and then gave a joint base with Epözdemir.

It was also reported that two bonds, one worth 1 million 560 thousand liras and the other worth 930 thousand liras, with the debtor being C.Ç. and the creditor being Rezan Epözdemir, were seized during the search.

According to the base records of C.Ç. and Epözdemir, considering that they gave a joint base during the night hours of July 8, 2021, it was stated that the bond dated July 9, 2021 was drawn up in this meeting and that the bond was given to Epözdemir in exchange for the bribe money remaining with C.Ç.

It is also claimed that WhatsApp records within the scope of the file confirm that a bribe of $75,000 was received on July 7, 2021.
