Urban transformation has begun in a 9-block complex in Büyükçekmece.

Urban transformation efforts are underway in Büyükçekmece. A nine-block, 125-unit housing complex on a street in the Atatürk neighborhood has been placed under urban transformation by the Büyükçekmece Municipality, citing an earthquake risk following analyses.
Demolition crews began work on the buildings today. Büyükçekmece Municipality Deputy Mayor Hakan Çebi participated in the work, monitoring the work on-site and receiving information from officials.
Speaking to members of the press during the work, Çebi said, "During inspections conducted by our Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality teams, four blocks were identified as Class D, meaning high risk. There are also grants and low-interest loans available as part of the "half on us" campaign offered by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization. I invite all citizens considering urban transformation to take advantage of these grants and low-interest opportunities. I wish them success."
