Two appointments to Vice Presidents of Communications
According to the decree published in the Official Gazette with the signature of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Deputy Director of Communications Çağatay Özdemir was dismissed.
TÜÇA President Prof. Dr. Pirinççi and İlhami Giray Şahin were appointed as Vice Presidents of Communications.
The appointments in question were made in accordance with Articles 2, 3 and 4 of Presidential Decree No. 3.
WHO IS PROF. DR. FERHAT PİRİNÇÇİ?Born in Bursa in 1979, Prof. Dr. Pirinççi graduated from Uludağ University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of International Relations, and completed his master's and doctorate at the same university.
In addition to his academic career, Pirinççi served as a consultant at the Strategic Research Center (SAM) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs between 2012 and 2014, as an academic coordinator and consultant at the Middle East Strategic Research Center (ORSAM) between 2014 and 2015, as Vice Dean at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Uludağ University between 2016 and 2018, and as Dean at the Uludağ University İnegöl Faculty of Business Administration between 2018 and 2019.
Pirinççi, who started working as a senior researcher at the Foundation for Political, Economic and Social Research (SETA) in 2020, also served as Editor-in-Chief of Kriter Magazine in 2021-2022.
Pirinççi, who also served as SETA Academy Director between 2023 and 2024, worked as a commentator on national television channels and as a manager, researcher and coordinator in numerous national and international projects.
Pirinççi, who has been serving as TÜÇA President since July 2024, was appointed as a Member of the Presidential Security and Foreign Policies Board as of April 10.
WHO IS ILHAMI GIRAY ŞAHİN?Born in Ankara in 1982, Şahin graduated from the English Department of Economics at Çankaya University's Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. He then completed his MBA at the Faculty of Economics and Law at Hoca Ahmet Yesevi International Turkish-Kazakh University. He also studied at the Gazi University Institute of Educational Sciences, Banking and Finance Education, and Ankara University Institute of Social Sciences, Humanities and Economic Geography master's programs.
Şahin, who previously served as Economic Advisor in the AK Party Group Chairmanship of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and Deputy Chairman of the Press, Publications and Public Relations Department of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, was most recently a member of the Board of Directors of the Ankara Branch of the Yeni Dünya Foundation.
