Traffic density in Istanbul rose to 72 percent on the third working day of the week.

Traffic density in Istanbul rose to 72 percent on the third working day of the week.

Due to the 2025-2026 academic year, which started at the beginning of the week following the end of the summer vacation, traffic density increased on the D-100 highway, the TEM Highway and connection roads on the Anatolian and European sides of the city.

On the European side, traffic is heavy in the Cevizlibağ and Mecidiyeköy areas of the D-100 highway in the direction of Edirne and Ankara.

Traffic congestion on the D-100 highway, starting in Yenibona, continues from Küçükçekmece to the Sefaköy ramp. Traffic is also heavy in both directions on Basın Ekspres Road.

Traffic congestion starts at Çağlayan when crossing from the July 15 Martyrs Bridge to the Anatolian Side.

Traffic density in Istanbul rose to 72 percent on the third working day of the week.

On the Anatolian side, there is a traffic jam in both directions on the D-100 highway between Kartal and Kadıköy.

Vehicles are having difficulty moving between Sancaktepe and Ataşehir on the TEM Highway and between Altunizade and Ümraniye on the Şile Highway.

Vehicles are moving slowly in the Uzunçayır and Altunizade areas towards the July 15 Martyrs Bridge, and in the Ümraniye and Kavacık areas towards the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge.

On the other hand, those who want to go to work and school using public transportation cause congestion at metro, metrobus and bus stops where transfers are made frequently.

According to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality's Pocket Traffic Map, traffic density in the city was measured at 62 percent as of 8:30 a.m. While density on the European side was around 54 percent, it rose to 72 percent on the Anatolian side.
