The number of companies established has decreased again

The economic crisis continues to directly affect company activities. While the number of companies established decreases, the number of companies closed continues to increase. The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) announced the statistics on companies established and closed for March. According to the statistics, a decrease in the number of companies established and an increase in the number of companies closed was detected in each period.
Accordingly, the number of companies established in March decreased by 8.3 percent compared to February, from 9,131 to 8,375. The number of companies closed in the same period increased by 12.3 percent to 1,932. 1,720 companies were closed in February. While the number of companies established in March decreased by 4.7 percent compared to the same month last year, the number of companies closed increased by 15.1 percent.
CLOSED COOPERATIVES INCREASED BY 55 PERCENTIn March, 8,557 companies and cooperatives were established in Türkiye. Compared to the previous month, the number of companies established in March decreased by 8.3 percent, the number of sole proprietorships decreased by 11.1 percent, and the number of cooperatives decreased by 1.1 percent. In the same period, the number of companies closed increased by 12.3 percent, the number of cooperatives increased by 55.3 percent, and the number of sole proprietorships decreased by 18.8 percent.
In March, the number of companies established decreased by 4.7 percent and the number of cooperatives decreased by 21.2 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, while the number of sole proprietorships increased by 14.2 percent.
During this period, the number of closed companies increased by 15.1 percent and the number of cooperatives increased by 2.8 percent, while the number of sole proprietorships decreased by 16.5 percent.
Of the 462 foreign-capital companies established last month, 22 had Chinese and 17 had Iranian partners.
