ÖSYM YKS ADDITIONAL PLACEMENT 2025 LATEST STATUS: When will YKS additional preferences start, has it started, how to apply?
According to the statement made by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), 8,726 earthquake victim candidates were placed in higher education programs this year within the scope of the earthquake victim quotas implemented in 2023 due to the February 6 earthquake centered in Kahramanmaraş.
95% of the 9,141 additional quotas available to candidates residing in the provinces of Adana, Adıyaman, Diyarbakır, Elazığ, Gaziantep, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Kilis, Malatya, Osmaniye and Şanlıurfa, and candidates studying in the final year of secondary education in these provinces, have been filled.
Placements were made in 971 of the 4,045 additional scholarship student quotas allocated for spouses and children of martyrs and veterans, as well as veteran candidates, at foundation higher education institutions, and the occupancy rate in the quota was 24 percent.
An additional 11,682 quotas were allocated for women over the age of 34 who had previously been denied access to higher education opportunities in the 2025 YKS exam. 9,309 female candidates took advantage of this opportunity and became eligible for university education. The occupancy rate for these quotas reached 80%.
Meanwhile, students who enrolled in associate degree programs in 2023, as part of the additional quota for women over the age of 34, completed their higher education journeys. 1,557 women who completed their associate degree programs graduated this year.
In the 2025-YKS exam, placements were made for 19,006 of the 24,868 additional quotas reserved for relatives of martyrs and veterans, veterans, earthquake victims, and female candidates over the age of 34. Candidates will be able to apply for the 5,862 remaining quotas during the additional placement process.
