Operation targeting counterfeit alcohol manufacturers in Antalya: 7 suspects arrested

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, in a post on his social media account, stated that they launched an operation after it was determined that counterfeit/smuggled alcohol was being produced and released into the market at five separate addresses in Antalya as a result of studies carried out by the Antalya Provincial Gendarmerie Command’s KOM and Intelligence Branch Directorates.

Minister Yerlikaya, regarding the operation launched by the gendarmerie against "counterfeit/smuggled alcohol manufacturers," said, "We seized 119,500 liters of counterfeit/smuggled alcohol. We apprehended seven suspects. I congratulate the Governor of Antalya, the Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office who coordinated the operation, the Gendarmerie KOM Department Headquarters, and the Antalya Provincial Gendarmerie Commander and gendarmerie who carried out the operation. Producing counterfeit alcohol is not only a crime, but also a deadly trap that threatens public health."
