A special clip from Fenerbahçe about its new transfer Alvarez

Fenerbahçe continues to add reinforcements as part of its preparations for the new season.

The yellow-dark blue team signed an official contract with Mexican footballer Edson Alvarez, who was last loaned from the Premier League representative West Ham United.

A statement on the club's official website read, "Our club has reached an agreement with West Ham United of England for the loan transfer of Mexican international Edson Alvarez, with an option to purchase, until the end of the 2025-2026 season. The accomplished 28-year-old midfielder has signed a contract that binds him to the yellow-navy colors. We welcome Edson Alvarez to our family and wish him many victories and championships with Fenerbahçe in the yellow-navy colors."

ALVAREZ: FENERBAHÇE IS BIGGER THAN I THOUGHT

Edson Alvarez made the following comments regarding his transfer to the club’s official website:

First of all, thank you. The interest from both the club and the fans over the past few days has been incredible. I knew Fenerbahçe was a huge club before coming here, but from the first moment I arrived, I realized that Fenerbahçe is much bigger than I thought. I'm very happy to be here. I want to train with my team as soon as possible, meet our fans at our stadium, and play in front of them.

"I've heard a lot of positive things about Fenerbahçe fans. I compare them to Mexicans. They are very passionate and give everything for their team. As a Fenerbahçe player, I will show all my quality on the pitch and give my all. I'm wearing the Fenerbahçe jersey right now, and I will do everything for it. Our fans should have no doubt."

DEVİN ÖZEK: WE SIGNED A CONTRACT WITH THE MEXICAN NATIONAL TEAM CAPTAIN

Fenerbahçe Football Director Devin Özek made the following statement regarding the Alvarez transfer on his official website:

"We have signed Edson Alvarez, the captain of the Mexican national team. He is strong, intelligent and has international experience at the highest level. We are very happy to welcome him to our club," he said.
