A building collapsed due to urban transformation in Avcılar

The incident occurred this afternoon on Reşitpaşa Street in the Avcılar Merkez neighborhood. According to reports, demolition of the building began as part of urban renewal projects. During the demolition, which lacked proper safety measures, the building collapsed while a construction machine was being used. The operator of the construction machine narrowly escaped being trapped under the rubble. Residents in the area were engulfed in a massive cloud of dust as the building collapsed. The terrifying moments were captured on a cell phone camera by a bystander.
