EPDK updated the Retail Sales Contract

The EPDK Board Decision regarding the issue was published in the Official Gazette.

According to the information obtained from EPDK, the Retail Sales Agreement dated 22 November 2018 was repealed and a new PSS was accepted as the standard contract.

Within the scope of the "Regulation on Amendments to the Electricity Market Consumer Services Regulation" published in the Official Gazette in January, the Authority evaluated the issues that should be included in the retail sales contract and prepared a new contract.

Accordingly, in retail sales contracts established face-to-face, instead of having the consumer sign the entire contract, a single-page "Contract Establishment Form" containing basic information is signed to establish the PSS. Care was taken to prepare the form in question in a single-page form in writing and in a format that would ensure that the consumer is informed in contracts to be established at a distance.

However, if requested by the consumer, the entire contract can be established by presenting it to the consumer and signing it.

Invoice sending methods have been updated

Invoice delivery methods have also been updated within the scope of the new retail sales contract. Accordingly, invoices will be delivered in writing or electronically via text message, e-mail, e-invoice or e-archive, depending on the consumer's clear preference.

In places of use other than the residential consumer group and where the invoices are read remotely, invoices will be sent electronically unless the consumer makes a separate request.

Invoices sent electronically will be directly viewable and downloadable, and will also be prepared in an accessible format compatible with screen reader programs for visually impaired citizens. If the consumer's contact information is available, the invoice amount and due date will also be notified via text message.

On the other hand, the application processes were also regulated within the scope of the new retail sales contract.

If there is no active retail sales contract at the place of use where the PSS application is made, the consumer's declaration will be taken into account and no document will be requested.

In addition, EPDK announced in a separate Board Decision that existing Retail Sales Contracts will remain valid without the need for a new contract.
