Earthquake victim's entitlement application resolved with KDK's initiative

According to the statement made by KDK, the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) did not carry out the entitlement process of the warehouse property of a person living in Hatay, which was affected by the Kahramanmaraş -centered earthquakes that occurred on February 6, 2023.

The person, who stated that the property was actually used as a residence by his sister for many years despite it being listed as a "warehouse" in the title deed record, also presented electricity, water and natural gas subscriptions proving that it was used as a residence, invoice samples, population registration information, a letter from the neighborhood headman confirming that the residence was lived in, and photographs.

The individual, whose application was rejected on the grounds of "the nature of the property," applied to the KDK. KDK contacted AFAD to resolve the dispute through an amicable resolution.

AFAD informed the KDK that the applicant's objection was re-evaluated, taking into account the documents he submitted, and that the entitlement request was fulfilled.
