Downpour alert in Istanbul

After days of scorching heat, citizens nationwide have enjoyed the much-anticipated cool weather. Images recorded in Istanbul this morning showed a significant drop in temperatures, with overcast and partly cloudy skies prevailing throughout the city. Thunderstorms are also expected throughout the day in Istanbul. The Turkish State Meteorological Service is warning citizens to be vigilant against flash floods, inundations, and transportation disruptions. The rainfall and the drop in temperatures are expected to reduce the risk of forest fires.
