Bahçelievler Dursun Yıldırım Kindergarten opened with a ceremony

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Istanbul Governor Davut Gül said, "With the 10-year population and family year declared by our President, kindergartens and daycare centers have become central to this process." Binali Yıldırım, Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States, said, "Today, we are gathered together again on an exciting occasion. The best investment is investing in the future. It is investing in people."
The "A Thousand States of Kindness for Our Beloved Istanbul" project, implemented by the Istanbul Governor's Office with the support of a thousand philanthropists, is ongoing. As part of the project, the Dursun Yıldırım Kindergarten was opened in Bahçelievler. Attendees included Binali Yıldırım, Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States, as well as Istanbul Governor Davut Gül, Deputy Minister of National Education Muhammet Bilal Macit, Istanbul Provincial Director of National Education Mücahit Yentür, AK Party Istanbul Deputy Süleyman Soylu, and Bahçelievler Mayor Dr. Hakan Bahadır.
During the program, kindergarten student Fadime Esma Çavuş recited the poem "Our School," followed by a folk dance performance by Emlak Konut Primary School students. Following the ceremony, a gift was presented to Binali Yıldırım. Following prayers, the ribbon was cut, a sapling was planted, and the newly opened kindergarten was toured.
'Preschool enrollment rate has reached 90 percent'Speaking here, Deputy Minister of National Education Muhammet Bilal Macit said, "Turkey has made great strides in education. Preschool enrollment rates have risen from 10 percent to 90 percent. High school education has risen from 40 percent to 90 percent. Our number of teachers and students per classroom has caught up with the most developed countries in the world. More than 80 percent of our current teachers were appointed in the last 25 years. More than half of the buildings constructed were constructed in the last 25 years. Therefore, we are getting better every day. One of the names that has contributed to all these successes was our Minister of National Education, İsmet Yılmaz. He has a wonderful saying: 'Today is better than yesterday, and tomorrow will be better than today.' I'd like to share another very small statistic about where we are going in education. Unfortunately, we can be stingy with the generous praise we sometimes criticize ourselves for. There are international indices published every four years. One of these is TIMS, which measures students in 4th and 8th grades in math and science." According to the 2023 results, Turkey placed second, seventh, and tenth in various categories, ahead of countries like Finland, the UK, and Norway, which are cited as examples for us. Minister Yusuf Tekin is one of those working tirelessly to make our future even better than today. Under his leadership, we are striving to implement the Turkey Century Maarif model, a project that prioritizes science and rationality, while also focusing on our moral values and being good people.
'YOU GAVE EXTRAORDINARY SUPPORT'Governor of Istanbul, Davut Gül, said, "Mr. Prime Minister, there have been innovations in many areas both during your prime ministry and your ministry. Our schools, especially during your time as minister, have been introduced to the internet in education. You have provided extraordinary support to technology classes, and they have been introduced to them. Of course, both before and after politics, during your time in politics, and after, you have used your knowledge, experience, and social circle for the good of our nation and our state, and you continue to do so. Before this, under your patronage, together with the Turkish Red Crescent, you established kindergartens in all 81 provinces. With the 10-year population and family year declared by our President in Istanbul, kindergartens and nurseries have actually come to the very center of this. We can list many obstacles, especially women working in metropolitan cities, but one of the reasons why the population has not increased is because of these kinds of schools, where our children can spend time, receive education, have someone to look after them while they work, and eliminate the problems that come with the nuclear family. In our Istanbul, with a population approaching 16 million and our nearly 3 million students, with the spread of kindergartens and nurseries, we have a "Even if only a small amount, this 10-year population increase will make a significant contribution to this issue, which is a matter of survival for our nation and state. Thanks to your leadership, Mr. Erkan and his colleagues," he said.
'INVESTMENT IN PEOPLE CONTINUES'Speaking here, Binali Yıldırım, Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States, said, "Today, we are gathered together again on an exciting occasion for us. The best investment is an investment in the future. It's an investment in people. You build roads, bridges, buildings. This investment has a lifespan. It could be 50 years, or even 100 years; but an investment in people continues from generation to generation in the divine spirit. That's why we're working on two projects. One is the '81 to 81 Kindergartens' project, which was initiated under the leadership of Semiha Hanım during my time as Prime Minister, and was built with the Red Crescent Flag. This project is almost complete. Around 70 schools have been built. Tomorrow, we will be opening one of these schools in Dalaman, Muğla. I would like to take this opportunity to once again express my gratitude to all our philanthropists in your presence; I thank them. The kindergarten we will be opening today is a little more special. It's a kindergarten initiated by our Governor and under his leadership. In other words, "A kindergarten built as part of the 'A Thousand States of Kindness for Dear Istanbul' project. We especially thank our esteemed Governor for initiating the project," he said.
