Countdown Begins for the 13th Bosphorus Film Festival: Applications Close on October 1st!

The festival, supported by the General Directorate of Cinema of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, will take place from November 7-14, 2025. Festival President Ogün Şanlıer emphasized the unifying power of cinema, stating that they aim to provide a platform for young talents and encourage international collaborations.

A total of 12 awards will be presented in the festival's competitions. The winners will receive substantial cash prizes. Best National Feature Film will receive 500,000 TL, and Best International Feature Film will receive 150,000 TL. Directors haven't been forgotten either; Best National Director will receive 125,000 TL, and Best International Director will receive 75,000 TL.

Awards will also be presented in the documentary and short film categories. In the National Documentary Competition, the Best Documentary Film will receive 100,000 TL, and the Jury Prize will receive 50,000 TL. In the National Short Film Competition, the Ahmet Uluçay Grand Prize will receive 100,000 TL, and the Best National and International Short Fiction Film will each receive 50,000 TL. The Istanbul Media Academy Young Talent Award is set at 40,000 TL.

The application deadline for filmmakers wishing to participate in the competition is Wednesday evening, October 1, 2025. Applications can be submitted via the festival's official website.
