A 6.1 magnitude earthquake in Balıkesir's Sındırgı district caused one house to collapse and some structures were seriously damaged.

AFAD and other emergency aid teams have been dispatched to the area. So far, there have been no official reports of casualties or serious injuries. However, local reports indicate that some homes have been damaged or destroyed. Teams continue to investigate the area.
