140 million lira savings with digital transformation in maritime

Minister Uraloğlu stated in his written statement that they have strengthened digitalization steps in order to increase service quality, speed up transactions and use public resources effectively in the maritime sector. Uraloğlu reported that maritime activities are carried out electronically with the Port Management Information System (LYBS), Maritime Payments System, Sailing Permit System (SİB), Ship Registry Information System, Seafarers Information System (GIBS), SCT-free Fuel Information System (SCTBS), Electronic Certificate System and many other applications developed by the General Directorate of Maritime Affairs. Minister Uraloğlu said, "Thanks to digital transformation, more than 4.5 million transactions were carried out electronically in 2024, more than 13 million paper usage was prevented and approximately 140 million liras were saved."

Minister Uraloğlu noted that they will continue to increase digital services that provide significant advantages in maritime trade, in line with the principle of facilitating and accelerating indispensable transactions in maritime in the digital age, in consultation with the sector.
