Russians suffering from gastritis and liver cirrhosis are advised to stop drinking kvass. This was reported by the press service of Rospotrebnadzor.
"Kvass is not recommended for consumption in case of certain diseases, such as cirrhosis of the liver and gastritis. The quality of kvass depends on the integrity of the manufacturer, who must strictly adhere to the preparation technology," the press service of the department noted.
They added that kvass improves metabolism. It also supports the cardiovascular and digestive systems, since the carbon dioxide in its composition helps improve digestion. At the same time, the drink contains only 27 calories per 100 grams.
However, it is important to know how to choose this cooling drink correctly. When buying, Rospotrebnadzor advises paying attention to its composition - there should be no artificial flavors and sweeteners. A good drink does not contain anything extra except water, rye flour, malt, sugar and yeast. It is also worth remembering that a good drink should foam.
If kvass is purchased on tap, you should be wary of places where sanitary standards are not observed. Such places should have garbage containers with lids. The container for storing the drink should be protected from direct sunlight. The seller of kvass must have a full package of documents confirming the safety and quality of the product.
