Novgorod students learned about police work at a career guidance meeting.

Recently, students from the Law College visited Police Department No. 2 of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Veliky Novgorod. During the tour, they learned about the work of the various departments.
At the duty station, they were shown the process of receiving citizen complaints and were told about the "Safe City" video surveillance system. Senior duty officer Natalya Veresova also explained the situations in which citizens might end up in a holding cell.
Sergey Loshak, head of the forensic science service, showed the young people a standardized "Forensic" suitcase. It contains the tools necessary for recording and extracting trace evidence. The students learned about the work of forensic experts, saw modern equipment, and learned about the specialized procedures used in this field.
In the investigation department, Police Lieutenant Colonel Alena Shakhovskaya spoke to students about the activities of investigative teams and the criminal investigation process.
Olga Korobova, Head of the Personnel Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Veliky Novgorod, spoke about police work and the requirements for those wishing to become police officers. She also explained the social guarantees and benefits available to police officers. At the end of the meeting, the students were given information on how to enroll in higher education institutions affiliated with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
