Three men arrested in Porto for drug possession

Three men, aged 22, 23 and 47, residents of Porto, were arrested on Monday in possession of 1,621 doses of cocaine and 2,437 doses of heroin, the PSP revealed in a statement on Tuesday.

The arrests took place on Rua Diogo Botelho, in Porto, at 2:30 pm, with the agents acting following information regarding drug trafficking in the Dr. Nuno Pinheiro Torres neighborhood, the press release adds.

The PSP reports that the three suspects acted in concert to carry out the illicit activity and that one of them even attempted to escape.

According to the Police, in addition to the 1,621 doses of cocaine and 2,437 of heroin, six doses of hashish, 10 doses of marijuana, as well as 2,692 euros in cash, a firearm and a butterfly-type knife were seized.

The detainees will be brought before the judicial authorities.
