Senate approves sending delegation to the US to 'negotiate' Trump's tariff hike

The Senate approved on Tuesday the 15th the sending of a delegation to Washington, D.C., to discuss the tariff hike promoted by U.S. President Donald Trump. According to the Senate, the goal is to establish channels of dialogue to seek a solution.
The group, made up of four senators, will travel between July 29th and 31st , and the temporary external committee will operate for 60 days. The senators who will make up the delegation have not yet been determined.
The request for the creation of the commission was presented by the president of the Foreign Affairs and National Defense Committee (CRE), Senator Nelsinho Trad (PSD-MS).
According to Nelsinho, the idea is to build a "bridge of dialogue" with the United States at a time when traditional diplomatic channels are facing difficulties.
"Businesspeople need predictability. We need to address this situation. Let's seek this understanding, open this dialogue, and understand exactly what's happening," the senator argued.
