Voepass employee reports 'miserable remorse' for not reporting failure

The plane had chronic problems. Captain Almeida stated, "This plane was not suitable for flying in icy conditions." A mechanic, who preferred to remain anonymous, reported that hours before the crash, the de-icing systems were not working.
The captain reportedly attempted to land the aircraft in Ribeirão Preto and requested maintenance. However, he did not officially file a complaint. According to the mechanic, the crew "flew under pressure" and "couldn't keep causing problems with the aircraft."
In a recording made a month after the accident, two Voepass maintenance workers, unaware they were being recorded, lamented the unreported failure in the early hours of the accident. One of them said he felt "excruciating remorse" for having failed to report the aircraft's failure.
"I was wrong, I was wrong not to send it in writing," he said. Another colleague advised: "Print it, send it to your phone, keep it safe," calling the situation "messy." The company was definitively grounded on June 24 of this year, ten and a half months after the accident.
