Trip to Morskie Oko Lake Difficult. Electric buses will no longer be available.

Tourists visiting the Tatra National Park will not be able to use electric buses for the next few months. This mode of transport will be discontinued due to severe weather conditions and will not return until spring. However, horse-drawn carriages will still be available throughout the winter. These may be the last few weeks of this controversial attraction on the full route to Morskie Oko – rides may soon be shortened to the Mickiewicz Waterfalls.
Electric buses will not go to Morskie OkoWith the worsening weather conditions in Zakopane, transport disruptions have been introduced. Electric buses, which began operating on the route to Morskie Oko earlier this year, will not operate until spring (most likely the first weekend in May). Previously, for years, the only alternative to walking was the controversial horse-drawn carriage.
According to PAP, nearly 12,000 passengers used the electric buses on the Zakopane-Morskie Oko route during the summer holidays. "At the same time, the drivers operating traditional horse-drawn carriages assure that interest in their services has not decreased," we read. Unfortunately, the high prices of bus rides effectively discouraged some tourists. A one-way ticket from the center of Zakopane cost 100 złoty per person.
Horse-drawn carriage rides will be shortenedThis summer and fall, buses and horse-drawn carriages operated simultaneously. Ultimately, however, the electric vehicles will replace horses on the most demanding section of the route to Morskie Oko, from the Mickiewicz Waterfall. Despite their prosthetic nature, the horses will still be used as a tourist attraction on the initial 3-kilometer section of the route. From there, tourists will have to walk themselves or take a bus.
As assured by the Minister of Climate and Environment, Paulina Hennig-Kloska, the number of electric buses will increase in the new tourist season.
