Robert Kubica is the WEC runner-up

Robert Kubica's name was mentioned everywhere in the world's media last weekend. The Krakow native and his AF Corse team just became runner-up in the prestigious Hypercar category.

After his June triumph in the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans, Robert Kubica had no intention of resting on his laurels. He continued competing in the World Endurance Championship, which he finished second overall.

Apart from him , Briton Phil Hanson and Chinese Ye Yifei also contributed significantly to this excellent result.

Their team competed for a long time with the Italian team for this prestigious title, but ultimately, after competing at the famous Sakhir circuit, they were forced to forfeit their spot. Although the final race in Bahrain ended in a one-two victory for Toyota, this season the undisputed best team in the championship was Ferrari, with Antonio Giovinazzi, James Calado, and Alessandro Pier Guidi among its ranks.

The news of Robert Kubica's latest achievement didn't escape Lewis Hamilton's attention. The Formula 1 star spoke highly of the Pole, who was unexpectedly asked about by a journalist in Brazil.

It is worth noting that Kubica is not the only hot name from the country on the Vistula in the automotive world.

In addition to the forty-year-old , Tymoteusz Kucharczyk, Kacper Sztuka, Maciej Gładysz, Roman Biliński, Tymoteusz Abramowski, and Miko Marczyk also had a successful year. The latter recently fulfilled his dream, winning the European Rally Championship with his co-driver Szymon Gospodarczyk.

They both achieved this difficult feat thanks to their very fast and consistent driving, as best demonstrated by their podium finishes in races in Hungary, Poland, Wales, Croatia and Italy.
