Difficulties not limited to the Valley of Five Ponds. These shelters will be closed.

The mountain shelter in the Valley of Five Polish Lakes will be closed to tourists from November 12th until the end of the month. However, this isn't the only inconvenience that awaits Poles visiting the Tatra Mountains in the near future. The mountain shelter located on Hala Ornak will also be closed until early December due to renovations. The Kalatówki Mountain Hotel will remain closed to guests even longer.
Accommodation in the Tatra Mountains in November and DecemberConditions in the Tatra Mountains are becoming increasingly difficult. Mountain hikers should plan their routes carefully, as some mountain huts will temporarily suspend accommodation in the near future. This includes the PTTK facility in the Valley of Five Polish Lakes, which will remain closed for technical reasons from November 12th to 30th, 2025. "We are replacing the plumbing, so there will be no access to the restrooms, and consequently, the kitchen and hotel area will also be closed. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding," the owners inform.
According to the Tatra National Park's latest announcement, the mountain hut on Hala Ornak will also be closed from November 3rd to December 1st due to renovations. However, the restaurant at this facility will remain open. Guests of the Kalatówki Mountain Hotel will also experience disruptions. Reservations for accommodation at this location will not be possible until December 21st.
The end of electric bus ridesDue to difficult weather conditions , the popular electric buses will also not be running on the route to Morskie Oko. Tourists who don't want to use horse-drawn carriages can walk during the winter season. The Mroźna Cave remains closed from November 1st.
Restrictions also apply on the Slovak side of the Tatra Mountains. From November 1st to May 31st, trails above mountain huts are closed.
